Brown and green is an incredibly popular color combination for weddings, baby showers and bridal showers so Rebecca of Tastefully Entertaining and I thought it would be an excellent choice for this week's Wedding Wednesday. The inspiration for this week's board was a modern green and brown wedding invitation from Prentiss Douthit.
I thought it would be fun to mirror the band on the invitation to other elements of the wedding. I realize, for some, this may be a little too matchy but I couldn't resist! The bridesmaid dress spotted on wedding bee and cake from Classic Confection Cakes were nearly perfect matches to the gross grain ribbon flat printed on the card.
For florals, I went with white and moved brown and green into accent colors [Fresh Studio]. Don't forget about the groom! Select a handsome handmade boutonnière like the one above from etsy seller EasterYu.
I'm a big fan of David Stark's work and this elegant escort card display is just a small example of the visual impact he creates with his displays. A chocolate brown tablecloth featuring a white runner and centerpieces of green gives this real reception a crisp and clean look [the knot].
For favours that double as place settings, consider attaching tags to artisan teas like tea forte. If you're preparing your own favours, Martha Stewart provides inspiration and instruction on creating unforgettable packaging.
Be sure to check out Rebecca's Wedding Wednesday picks. Her boutonnière inspired me to include a lapel pin in this week's post and I hope to include more groom-related items in future Wedding Wednesdays.
It's been a little over a month since we launched this feature and the response has been wonderful. I have to admit, I was a little apprehensive, but now wedding Wednesday is a feature that I look forward to. Rebecca and I hope to add a little more to this feature so you'll have to stay tuned to see what's in store for the future!
