Wedding Wednesday: Deep Green and Brown Woodland Wedding

Welcome once more to Wedding Wednesday. This week, Rebecca of Tastefully Entertaining and I selected an elegant forest green and brown wedding invitation from William Arthur for our inspiration source. I was especially excited for this week's board because this is, essentially, a much more coherent and color-coordinated version of my own dream wedding.

[Clockwise from top left: woodland wedding tent, fern boutonnière, olive green bridesmaid dress, branch lights, faux bois cake, green and brown pine invitation, wooden programs (these would also make creative isle markers), candy buffet with fall foliage, creative escort card presentation, green and white boutonnières for the groomsmen, a wonderful photo by Anne Ruthmann - great to add to your album OR to put on some photo thank-you notes, candles & greenery centerpiece, a romantic reception tabletop.]

I love the idea of an outdoor wedding or, if weather does not permit, bringing elements of the outdoors into your wedding. Brown and green are most agreeable to the eye - and the seasons. While darker shades of green and richer browns are wonderful for fall weddings, a light sage or mint green lightens the mood and makes for a perfect spring palate.

Above are just two of Rebecca's selections for today's theme. I love the deep chocolate of the tabletop and the cake with adorable (faux) mushrooms. Be sure to visit Tastefully Entertaining for more Wedding Wednesday and event inspiration!
