Black and White Graduation Party

Congrats, graduate! You've made it through your academic career, and although there may have been a few bumps in the road, you are well on your way to receiving your diploma. Hosting a graduation party is a great way to celebrate this huge milestone. Graduating from high school or college only happens once, so mark this milestone with family, friends, and a great party. Here is our idea for a great black and white graduation party to help plan your event:

Black and White Graduation Party

Start off your party planning with the perfect party invitations. There are great new designs for graduation invitations as well as graduation announcements on FineStationery. This new design from Inviting Company (Cabana Stripe Invitation via FineStationery) has a lot of great on-trend party elements that we are seeing in the party planning world. Gold metallic and black and white stripes are huge for 2014, and make a great graduation party theme for your graduate.

Keeping to a color scheme is easy once planned. So we kept everything simple with black and white stripe party decorations. These striped paper lanterns make great decorations for daytime entertaining, or can be used with white lights at night. (paper lantern balloons via ZGallerie) Party balloons are a must! Giant round latex balloons make a huge statement and make it easier to have fewer decorations, but bigger impact! Add lovely metallic gold tassel for extra flare. They also play off the idea of a graduation tassel, don't you agree? (Oversize balloons with tassels via LAINA)

Personalized napkins are a great added touch to any party. With many motifs, fonts, and ink colors, there are plenty of designs to match your party decor. (personalized napkins via FineStationery)

Bold black and white stripes on this tablecloth transform your backyard into a chic fete filled with life. Accent with a few mini vases of the graduate's favorite blooms for a more colorful tablescape. (tablecscape via Merriment Events)

Finally, let's talk food and drinks. Keep plenty of refreshments going, especially in warmer temperatures! Display a large water pitcher on a table for self serve, or pass out pre-filled lemon waters with fun black and white straws for guests to enjoy. These fresh glasses are accented with lemon slices and a fun black and white paper straw. The martini glasses make everyone feel a little bit more grown up! (lemon water via Modernly Wed)

This absolutely stunning floral and stripe cake really ties in all the elements of the party together, and we love how original it is. (stripe and floral cake via Hey There, Cupcake!) For more sweet treats, there black and gold graduation cupcakes are great to add to your dessert table. Prepare before hand with fondant numbers to represent the graduation class.
